Tropic Thunder (2008)


  • What's it about?: In order to prepare for a Vietnam war movie, a group of actors is dropped into an unspecified Southeast Asian country and accidentally find themselves in a drug cartel's territory. Their lead actor is captured and now they have to save him.
  • Thoughts: Very funny and quotable movie. Enjoyed everyone's interactions with each other.
  • Rating: 9/10

Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five (2008 Direct-to-Video Short Film)


  • What's it about?: Po is tasked with teaching a class of bunny children and tells them the individual stories of how each Furious Five member got their start. Mantis learns patience after getting captured by crocodile bandits. Viper uses her ribbon dancing techniques to defeat a gorilla bandit who bests her father in battle. Crane tries out at the academy where he works as a janitor. Tigress is taught by Shifu to control her strength. Finally, the prankster Monkey is humbled by Master Oogway.
  • Thoughts: It's fine enough.

Howard, Vince, Naboo and Bollo go on holiday in a cabin in the woods. The yokel who owns the cabin tells him about a yeti and he goes to photograph it. Vince fends off the yokel's sexual advances while Howard is captured by a group of yeti cultists who brainwash him into a hippie.

  • What's it about?: A parody of music biopics that follows the life of Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly). After accidentally killing his brother while playing with machetes, Dewey goes on to become a successful musician. Over the years he gets into various drugs, meets a lot of other famous musicians, cheats on his wife, changes up his musical style several times, goes to prison, goes to rehab, deals with his estranged father and has a lot of kids. 
  • Thoughts: Pretty funny and the songs are legit bangers.
  • Rating: 7/10
